I hope you are all doing well. Its been a long few months but i’m so glad to see so many people stopping by the site and still remembering Krypton Fan. Season 7 of Smallville has been fantastic thus far and we look anxiously forward to Season 8. I want to get all the updates to you, about all the things that have been going on in the last few months with not only Smallville, but the Superman Returns sequel and the Justice League, i’ll however do that in another post soon, also i’ll be updating the episode ratings page. Hello everyone!

Here’s some big news for you! Various sources are reporting that our very own Lana Lang, Kristin Kreuk is taking on the role of Chun-Li in the upcoming live action adaptation of the long running and extremely popular video game series called Street Fighter. The film will actually be called “Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li”, and will focus mainly on Kristin’s character. This looks to be directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak, and it comes from a script by Justin Marks. Shooting for the film will begin in Thailand this March.

This is not the first time that Street Fighter has been taken to the live action big screen. I myself vividly remember the 1994 film which featured Jean Claude Van Damme in the lead role. At that time, Chun-Li was played by actress Ming-Na, who had a long running role on the TV Series “ER”, and with her own DC Comics connection, voiced the character of Detective Ellen Yin on the currently running animated series entitled “The Batman”, which has also featured voice work by Allison Mack and Brandon Routh!

Needless to say, the 1994 film was one more in a long line of failed video game to movie projects. However, with Kristin in the lead role, the new Street Fighter film seems poised to break the cycle, and be an amazing film! Congrats to Kristin, and also a huge thanks to all who sent me word of this developing story!

Hello again everyone! Wow, do I have a lot to tell you about! First of all, you can catch me co hosting with Derek on the most recent episode of Starkville House Of El Podcast, Episode 71. In it, Derek and I talk about this weeks amazing episode of Smallville plus, more on the strike, and a whole host of other things! You can find that at houseofelpodcast.com.

Also, “Sci Fi Now” magazine reviewed Krypton Fan in their eighth issue and gave the show a 4 out of 5 stars!! If you have the issue, be sure to check out the review!

Finally, there has been so much JLA news of late, i’m going to have to place it in another post once I can get it all compiled. Suffice to say, its going to be quite an amazing time leading up to the Summer of 2009, where we certainly hope it will remain on track for release! There is also an update to the episode ratings page, so be sure to check that out when you have a chance as well.

Hello again everyone! I’ve been getting a ton of email lately asking me where I am. I’m still here, its just been a crazy month. Thank you to everyone for your concern and you can expect to see some updates later this week.

By the way, if you haven’t heard, Brandon Routh married his long time girlfriend Courtney Ford this past Saturday. So congrats go out to Brandon and Courtney!

Also, I heard from a few people that the film Fred Claus, which is directed by David Dobkin (who will also be directing the upcoming live action “Flash” film) and features “Superman Returns” Lex Luthor, Kevin Spacey, in a supporting role, has several scenes which have something to do with Spaceys character, and a Superman Cape, and that there are mentions of Clark Kent! I’m also told that at one point in the film you can clearly see Superman Returns action figures in a toy store. So Fred Claus sounds like something that Superman fans might enjoy!

I’ve received many emails over the last few days about how the current writers strike will affect the future of Smallville and for that matter, television in general. To that end, I appeared on a special Monday episode of House of El, in which Derek and I discuss everything about this major event and, what we can expect next. At this point unfortunately, we have more questions than answers but all we can do is wait..and see what develops. You can listen to my discussion with Derek at:

More DC news for you! According to Sci Fi Wire, while doing promotion for Fred Claus, producer Joel Silver, who was producing “Wonder Woman” for Warner, told reporters that due to the Justice League film being made, they would be “pausing on Wonder Woman now”. He said JLA would be made first, but he hopes they can still make the stand alone film one day! Still no locked in name for who will play the Amazon in JLA, since the Teresa Palmer story. I’ll update you right here, as soon as some confirmation is made!

Things are really moving in the DC Camp! The Green Lantern is not the only hero that has a director attached to his stand alone film!

When news of The Flash coming to the big screen first hit, we heard names like Shawn Levy and David Goyer attached as director, now comes word that David Dobkin will direct the film! Dobkin’s next project hits theaters on November 9, with the new holiday comedy “Fred Claus”, which features “Superman Returns” very own Lex Luthor, Kevin Spacey in a supporting role.

At the Saturday Press Junket for Fred Claus, Dobkin told MTV that The Flash film will be set in the same universe as the JLA film, and will be a direct spin-off. He also said his film will focus on Wally West. Does this confirm that Wally West will be The Flash who appears in the JLA film? Who knows? As Krypton Fan listeners know, I was hoping for Barry Allen, especially if Hal Jordan is focused on in the GL stand alone film..but all very exciting news either way!! Stay Tuned!!

Our heroes may be getting their own individual films after all! Greg Berlanti, who created two shows for the former WB Network, “Everwood”, and “Jack and Bobby” is signed on to co write and direct a Green Lantern film..and the best part of this news? It is believed that Berlanti will focus on Hal Jordan!!!

With all the JLA news of late, I was starting to wonder if DC would be fast tracking any of their biggest heroes for individual films, and it looks as if they are! How soon can we expect the ball to get rolling on this project? I’ll keep you posted right here!! What do you think of this huge DC News?

Moviehole is reporting that Teresa Palmer has landed the role of Wonder Woman in JLA! This news comes not long after George Miller was said to be testing a number of Hollywoods young stars and starlets for the key roles in the film.

I myself was getting fairly excited about the idea of Mary Elizabeth Winstead snagging the role, but i’ve seen Teresa in two of her projects, “The Grudge 2″ and “December Boys” and thought she was great in both, particularly December Boys. Despite the fact that i’ve only seen her as a blonde, it sounds like a decent choice to me! If there is further confirmation of this story coming…i’ll report it right here!!
